GIS Map Standards for Urban Street Routing and Location Tracking
Map Guidelines:
- Streets: Indicate one-way and two-way streets clearly on the GIS map.
- Highways: All U-turns and connections to other streets must be defined.
- Highways and Three-Lane Urban Roads: Displayed in yellow on a separate layer; street widths should be drawn proportionally to their actual width.
- Two-Lane Urban Roads: Displayed in green on the GIS map.
- 6-Meter Alleys: Shown in white.
- 3-Meter Alleys and Narrower: Shown in red.
- Police Stations and Centers: Traffic police, anti-narcotics, criminal investigation, and other relevant offices should be displayed in a separate layer.
- Government Buildings: Governor’s Office, Provincial Office, Agricultural, Labor and Social Affairs, city libraries, etc., should be displayed in a separate layer.
- Fire Stations: Displayed in a separate layer.
- Utility Companies: Water, electricity, gas, telecommunications, etc., should be displayed separately.
- Judicial Institutions: Courts, forensic offices, prisons, etc., should be displayed in a dedicated layer.
- Parks and Green Spaces: Displayed in green with names labeled on the map.
- Mosques: Indicated with names either in the streets layer or a separate layer.
- Large and Prominent Factories: Shown in a dedicated layer.
- Bakeries: Marked on the map.
This standard ensures accurate routing, location tracking, and easy identification of urban infrastructure and services within the GIS system.
